S.K. Arkenwell writes psychological fiction about control, compromise and ambiguity, with a particular interest in the grey areas between good and bad, right and wrong.
The people in these stories often make dubious decisions for reasons that seem perfectly reasonable at the time.
Off the page, Arkenwell becomes ‘Arky’ and spends an unreasonable amount of time on a gravel bike and shooting hoops against the laws of physics. Anything with too strong a whiff of ‘traditional’ tends to get a hard pass, including traditional publishing.
